How to Create a Digital Account Inventory in Canada
A good inventory is a map, not a password list. It tells a trusted person what exists, why it matters and where approved access instructions are kept.
Use consistent fields
For each item, record the account category, provider, account owner, username or partial identifier if safe, purpose, approximate value or importance, intended action and the person responsible for follow-up.
Separate secrets from the inventory
Keep passwords, recovery codes, device PINs and wallet seed phrases in purpose-built secure storage. Your inventory can point to the existence of that storage and explain how an authorized person should request access.
Prioritize critical accounts
Begin with primary email, password management, mobile service, cloud storage and devices. These often affect recovery of other accounts. Then add financial, business, subscription, social and sentimental assets.
Keep an audit-friendly review habit
Date each review, remove obsolete entries and confirm that the named trusted people still make sense. Avoid emailing the full inventory or leaving an unencrypted copy in a shared folder.
